The ESC - European Students’ Conference - is one of the largest biomedical conferences worldwide and has been one of the main events at the Charité for many years. Addressing young scientists, graduate students, post-graduate students, PhD students, post-docs, and everyone interested in biomedical research, the ESC represents an interdisciplinary platform for international scientific exchange between numerous countries, students, clinicians, and professors from different fields of research and various cultures.

Founded in 1989 the ESC historically served as a bridge to East-West student relations after the fall of the Berlin Wall. The aim was to create a platform for young researchers from different fields. Over the past 21 years, the ESC established a way of bringing researchers and medical staff with different interests, but more importantly different countries together.

The Indian Students' Association of Tver State Medical Academy cordially invites everyone to the Annual cultural festival of the Indian Students "RANGOLI 2010".

The culture of India has been shaped not only by its long history, unique geography and diverse demography, but also by its ancient heritages. India's diversity is visible in its languages, religions, dance, music, architecture and customs which differ from place to place within the country, but nevertheless possess a commonality. The culture of India is a mixture of diverse sub-cultures spread all over the country and traditions that are several millennia old.

Programme of the festival includes:

• 16:30 exhibition of the cultural diversity of India;
• 17:15 concert.

Venue: concert hall of TSMA (2nd floor).

V International Pirogov Scientific Medical Conference of Students and Young Specialists took place on 18 of March, 2010, in Moscow, in the Russian State Medical University.

The Tver State Medical Academy congratulates its student Ushani Jayawardena (Sri Lanka), Faculty of General Medicine, 6th year, who presented report on results of the research “Analysis of prevalence and structure of chromosome diseases in Tverskaya Oblast for the past 6 years” and won 2nd place in the contest.

Students and staff members of the Tver State Medical Academy took part in the concert on occasion of the International Women’s Day, conducted in the premises of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of Russia on March 5, 2010.

Members of the TSMA Cultural Center brought greetings to women of the Ministry on behalf of the Academy.

The concert was attended by Minister Golikova T. A.

The regular meeting of the council of the Association “Tvermedobrazovanie” was conducted on March 3, 2010 in the premises of the Tver State Medical Academy. The council consists of representatives of TSMA, nursing schools of Tver, Kimri, Vishniy Volochek, Bezhetsk, Kashin, Rzhev and Tver Regional Department of Health. The Council of the Association is chaired by M. N. Klainkin, Rector of the Tver State Medical Academy.

The meeting approved the plan of events dedicated to the International Year of Nurse — 2010, announced in the frame of the Millennium Development Goals by the UN. In 2010 it is planned to publish a collection of research and academic training papers “2010 — The International Year of Nurse”, to carry out a professional contest “The Best Nurse of TSMA”, to organize scientific conference in collaboration with the E. M. Bakunina Society of Christian Orthodox Doctors, to arrange festivals of arts in nursing schools of the region. One of the most significant points of the events is honoring of nurses — the WWII veterans.
